Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Home Design AI ("we", "us", "our"), operator of the Home Design AI mobile application ("Home Design AI", the "App"), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the App.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Room photos. Images you upload to be redesigned.
- Rendered images. AI-generated variants of your photos, returned to you.
- Optional notes / prompts. Text guidance you may type into the "Notes for the AI" field to steer the render.
- Account information (only if you register with email): email address, hashed password, and optional display name.
- Support communications you send us by email.
1.2 Information we generate automatically
- Device identifier. A random ID generated by the App and stored on your device to link your renders and subscription to this install. Not tied to your real identity.
- Device secret. A random opaque value generated by our server, stored in your device's secure keystore, used to authenticate this device.
- Usage data. Basic logs (request timestamps, endpoints, error codes) needed to run and debug the service.
1.3 Subscription and payment information
Subscriptions to Home Design AI Pro are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. They provide us with a subscription status (active, expired, in trial) and a transaction identifier. We do not receive your credit card number, billing address, or full payment details.
2. How we use information
- To provide the core service — accept your uploaded photo and any notes, send them to our AI provider, and return a rendered image.
- To maintain your project history so you can view past renders.
- To operate your subscription (verify entitlement, track free-render quotas).
- To detect fraud, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- To respond to support requests.
- To improve the App (aggregate, non-identifying analysis of usage patterns).
3. Who we share information with
- OpenRouter, Inc. (United States) — our AI inference provider. Your uploaded photo and any notes you provide are sent to OpenRouter (and to the underlying model provider, such as Google) purely to generate the rendered image. See OpenRouter's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) — our subscription management provider. We share your device identifier and receive back subscription status and transaction events. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — for subscription billing.
- Cloud hosting providers that store our database and image uploads.
- Law enforcement or regulators where legally required.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos or notes to train AI models.
4. Storage and retention
Uploaded photos, notes, and rendered images are stored on our servers for as long as your project exists in your library. You can delete a project at any time from the Projects screen; deletion removes both the source and rendered images from our servers within 30 days. Backend logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging.
If a render fails (for example, due to an AI provider error), the source photo remains available in your library so you can retry; you may delete it at any time from the Projects screen.
If you delete the App without deleting your projects first, guest-account data remains associated with your device identifier and will be purged after 12 months of inactivity.
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including HTTPS in production, encrypted-at-rest storage for authentication credentials on your device (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences), and password hashing with bcrypt for registered accounts. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong password if you register.
6. Your rights
Depending on your region (EU / UK / California / etc.), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time.

7. Children's privacy
Home Design AI is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
8. International transfers
Our servers and third-party processors may be located outside your country. In particular, OpenRouter and RevenueCat are based in the United States; our hosting infrastructure and support operations are based in Pakistan. By using Home Design AI, you consent to your data being processed in these jurisdictions. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for international transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App and via the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Home Design AI after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
